Cool

This was a good submission. It was definitely interesting to see how each artist brought their own unique style and interpretation to the table with each scene.
It was well animated and cool to watch. good job.

good-strange, but more annoying than interesting

At the very start, I saw why many of the reviewers compare this to David Firth. But, once it gets to the tv object, it just strayed away from that drastically. and thats where it just started sucking. The animating was relatively good, the graphics ok, but a little bit poor. And the song that came on near the middle was just atrociously irritating! first, it was loud and obnoxious....and secondly, it was just a bad choice of music....
so, i know you're going for weird/experimental, but your movie was no way near being admirable as, say, david firth's stuff. and next time, put in a story that at least follows a simple structure and ends logically. this just had no storyline whatsoever...
i'll watch any others you make on the condition that the music isn't irritatingly boasting and there is some kinda interesting story to follow and has a point.

I thought this would've been interesting..

but I didn't like it. sorry but I hate things like this....the ever-so-dramatic "THE END" of everything. (Do you hate Zelda or something...do you have a personal gripe against Zelda?)
This movie was bad in my opinion for the following:
1. Animation/graphics: I'll admit I was excited to see this solely from the little preview picture of your submission...the beginning of the flash(can't even call it a movie, moreso a slideshow ...) of the slow pan across Link is drawn really well! I praise you for that detail! But...everything else past that point was drawn lousy.
Some drawings were decent, but not nearly as good as Link and the animating was just terrible. I understand this was your second movie, but you say in your profile you are a web designer so I would've thought that you would've made the characters animated at least or at least more interesting...... The static non-moving pictures were just boring and dull and I only watched this through to the end to see the end...not the overdramatized painful ending that you gave me.
So for quickie conclusion:
The flash was just a compilation of (some really well drawn, i will admit) graphics that were just static apart from the spontaneous twinkle in the eye, so i suggest next time make them fully animated....and actually have a story. Some 5 year old who happened to have played the game could come up with that whole "LinkvsGanondorfvsZelda=all die" scenario in 5 seconds flat...or maybe even better than that. Seriously, I'm sure you got more creative juice in you than just a 5 year old's idea.
Anyways, personally I didn't like this movie/flash/whatever. You are a great illustrator though as proved with full detail Link/Ganondorf.
I guess all I can say is good luck on any future submissions that you anticipate making, and take into consideration all the things that I mentioned..

How does this get to be such a High Scorer?

It was mediocre, if anything. The graphics were decent, but nothing amazing. nor was there any story. All it was was fighting with RPG style. And frankly, i find this extremely boring.
Who the hell wants to sit at their computer and watch an imaginary RPG battle for minutes upon minutes? Obviously, TOO MANY want to watch it, because it somehow found its way up to being 3rd on the 'All Time Scoring' List. I dunno. I think its dumb...it'd be alot better if you could interact with it because its much more fun playing along RPG style than actually watching a scripted battle. gah. just lame....

Thank you, captain obvious.

But how I make game?

Cool until the ending

I really liked your weird style in the beginning...everything about the beginning was neat but once it showed the old guy, the graphics looked like it was done by a totally different animator! or deliberately making it look different....good job though...it was a bit short and simple on story...i hope you make more with more interesting concepts.

Quite funny actual.

I was expecting a low-rate all-out retarted movie like the Clock Legion movies and such...but this was actually funny because of its randomness. I particularly liked the coke deaths, the objects piling up on the dead guy, and i also liked how the movie often accompanied the music(like the beginning and end credits)
Good job! I'm sure alot of people are gonna hate this and send you hate mail, but alot more are going to love it.

eh...

I thought that was utter tripe! The only thing I loved about it is the Hans Zimmer music choice. Superb music, but I thought the movie sucked and was mostly pathetic.
It's what I see all the time...emo people separating themselves from society and "wanting" to be part of a group, but subconsciously pushing people away. Another thing is that this is so cliched and overused its not funny...maybe not on newgrounds but i've seen many versions of this "freakboy likes girl, girl seems to ignore him, but then ends up with him in the end" ...and i just think that's pathetic that the boy doesn't have the balls to go up to the kid, punch the faggot in the face and take the girl. Instead, he whines about his life, cowers from people and wonders when he's going to die when some bullies beat him up...AND! without any sort of self-defence either! just sits there waiting to be hit. somebody like him then doesn't deserve a girl(an ugly girl might i add in this movie.) and should just remain the 'nobody' he is. Emo/goths/freaks lock themselves up from people....and they wonder why their life is so miserable.
Oh, and i love south park but you copying their style is just weak and it's so unoriginally simple, why bother making the movie...why not just make it with freakin stick figures. end.

ehh....

Animation and style were cool and all, but that was just pointless and i was gonna click out of the box because the pointless walking scene was overly long.! I mean seriously....that's basically THE WHOLE movie....just walking...and the ending is too abrupt. one single carrot falling onto the bunny was lame. i like your style, though, so i hope the next thing you make has more idea to it.

Illumatie responds:

Thanx for you honest response (:

Maybey I streatched the walking to long. Timing is everything with this kind of humor (if you can call it that) I'll work on that in my next animation (if I get to it).

Certainly not as good as your others but okay

This was good in that the graphics and sound were all wonderful. Style of course was your own and brought a harsh and eery vibe to the 'story'. Also, the graphics in this were better drawn and refined, and more stylish which made it more enjoyable to watch.
But, I thought this one was significantly lame as opposed to your others, in that it was all over the place. The beginning was just ridiculous and then later being contrasted with the "serious" death of a character that appeared to resemble a piece of a map or puzzle piece, just did not work at all......ummm...yea......so it had nothing to laugh at or say 'what the hell' (which is what you're best known for)
Let me refer to your other works for a moment; With "Salad fingers", viewers were sucked into the fuckin weird story, and because the salad fingers character was fucked up in general as well as being highly original. And the "Sock"(dream) series, "Spoilsbury Toast Boy", "Milkman" and "Valentine's Day Special" all were so freakin' weird that one had to say "WTF" in a comical manner and the style was sooo weird but likable. Even with "Burnt Face Man", you've proved that you can do comedy as well.
...it was niether comical nor "wtf"...just bad and superficial. Superficial because graphics and sound were all wonderful, but story was just shit.
It's a shame knowing your efforts put into this film and you usually make much more interesting movies than this. BUT it's just one opinion! so take what i say with a grain of salt....the rest of the internet may think this is your best work to date. But, I don't.
This one seemed like it was trying too hard to be serious and have a point, but really...there was no underlying message or point to the movie.

Wow, extremely entertaining!

This was amazing! I haven't seen the others in the series, but this is really great! Now, I'm going to go watch all the others...you sure put a lot of effort in the detail of this flash movie. It almost felt like i was watching a real movie...great 3d camera work and lots of action-filled sequences.
The simplicity in the sticks kinda put me off, but the world, the story and everything else made up for it! Superb job!
