I liked that the enemies were super polite. That was it....This was 37 seconds...there wasn't even a story or plot. Let's just throw in a few one line zingers and call it a movie. Yikes.

I really dig your animation stye. Definately work on perfecting that and work on the quality of your drawings. You could do some amazing things someday. Unfortunately at the current moment, its a little too crude looking, and everything about it is just off the wall and sloppy looking. Hone your skills and refine them, and this could've been a hit.

Thank you. I am still trying to make it look less slopy. one thing was I tried cranking out a couple dozen of these at once for my YouTube page. I'm still working on a balance of getting it out and making it look better.

Since this wasn't a flash animation, I'm going to rate it as such. Newgrounds is for flash animations and content. Not speedpaints. Put that stuff on youtube for people who actually want to click and sit through this stuff.

This was pretty good, but this story has been really played out here on Newgrounds. You can search for (Name)'s Quest and come up with at least three or four different zelda-esque adventure parodies. Regarding the story, I feel like the only new thing you brought was that the two female leads were actually lesbians...that was unexpectedly funny. The art style was simplistic but just interesting enough that it was your own, and it had a really nice flow from shot to shot. My only complaint is the voices...every time the redhead grunted or made some sort of sound, it sounded off. Like other reviewers here said, it seemed like it was a guy. So unless that's something you were intentionally "parodying" for the character's design, I would advise to make it sound more female next time. I also feel like there were some opportunities for dialogue but it was all mostly visual gags and music that paced the movie...dialogue maybe could've added more substance between scenes but that's just my opinion.
My advice for your future work would be to work on more original story ideas(and even invent new comedy bits instead of relying on what works)...having more believable voicework and sound effects, and maybe even upping your animation quality (shading, more inspired character design) Despite all this I did enjoy the movie, it just could have been much more.

ObsidianWasp responds:

Thank you for your advice. I definitely have more "original" things planned in the future, and the good news is that I have a virtually unlimited amount of time to come up with scripts... And I plan to work on my mic quality as well.

I lol'd. The animation was pretty straightforward, and nothing really happens. I was taken aback though, so good for you for surprising me. Apart from the random murder of two random awkward people, nothing really happened. I'd really like to know if that guy ever gets apprehended. Shit, make a whole awkward series where the awkwardness of this guy, makes him do things he wishes he didn't do. It'll be a hit.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll do my best on the next one!

It was alright for a short but not that original. This has been done before many times. Having said that, I liked your animation style and you did a decent job with setting up suspense in a short amount of time. However it was too predictable, we knew what was coming already, and maybe with something unexpected or diverting from the usual straightforward story.
As far as the music, I think this is one of those times where you were wrong and music would have elevated the scare factor tenfold. I think the silence just sort of gives it a very...amateurish sound. When the viewer keeps checking the sound to see if its "on" that takes them out of the movie. You don't want that. Just my opinion. Keep it up though.

I just wanted a break after working on something heavy for halloween i didnt have to make a winter animtion i never do but i like i said just wanted to wor on something simple :) glad you liked the art style

Great smooth animation and distinct cartoony style. I think a lot of the reviewers here complaining that the girl from neck up was "unattractive" missed the point of the cartoon.
Her attractive assetts were obviously her boobs and curvy body. If she had been pretty-faced, the guy would've had less reason to ignore her and the cartoon's sequence of events and payoff wouldn't have been as funny and satisfying. The humor was just right with her being semi-desperate to get his attention by stripping down naked, but doing it in a classy way, and not completely self-degrading herself just for his sake.
Office workers probably wish this sort of thing happened on a regular basis, just to motivate them to do better work! Good job.

Wow great stuff! Loved the energy and there was clearly a lot of work put into this. At times, the action seemed to go too fast but it was necessary for the crazy dreams and I laughed during alot of it. Great work.

I hate minecraft and my god, it/this looks really awful to look at. But somehow this was still very moving to me. Not sure if because of the music..or because when I see characters laying down and talking in raspy voices, I start getting teary eyes. Why was he cutting all the onions anyway? Seemed kind of random for your character to do. Anyways, go to school, learn lots, practice and you will become better. That's my constructive criticism!

Thanks

Good job. Keeping the animation simplistic allows for easier absorption of the story being told. The helicopter scene of course took me by surprise...quite like Bruno did. Anyways, I'd like to think I learned something today. Toota-loo!
